Blue Mass to be celebrated at Sacred Heart

A Blue Mass is a Mass celebrated in the Catholic Church for those employed in the public safety field including police officers, firefighters, correctional officers, 911 operators and EMS personnel. The color blue relates to the blue-colored uniforms predominantly used by these services. Sacred Heart will honor and invite all of these first responders and those in the public safety field in the Illinois Quad Cities with a Blue Mass on Sunday, September 29, at our usual 9 a.m. Mass. This day is of course also the Feast of Saint Michael (aka Michaelmas), patron saint of those mentioned above.
